The annual Mercer County Turkey Trot is set to return on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 27, at Mercer County Park in West Windsor.

The event is set to feature a timed 5K run beginning at 8:30 a.m., and a one-mile walk starting at 8:45 a.m. on a USATF-certified course. The race starts and finishes near the Mercer County Boat House.

From its modest beginnings, the Turkey Trot has grown into a sold-out holiday tradition drawing runners, walkers and families from across New Jersey.

Participants are promised a festive start to their Thanksgiving, whether pushing for a personal best or strolling with friends and children in strollers. Organizers say that the proceeds from the race benefit local food banks and pantries in the area.

Organizers also say the walk/run is “stroller-friendly” and open to all levels — from casual walkers to serious athletes. It is a rain-or-shine event.

Directions, parking information, the race registration link, packet pick-up details, FAQs and donation options are all accessible via the official website.
