The national certification, backed by the U.S. Department of Energy, recognizes workplaces that promote clean transportation options for employees, including the use of electric vehicles.

The county’s recognition highlights its ongoing efforts to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure. Mercer County has installed 15 charging stations, including four DC fast chargers, across its properties.

The following county buildings received EVAL certification:

“Mercer County is excited to join the ranks of EVAL certified organizations,” said County Executive Dan Benson. “We’re serious about our commitment to sustainability, and that means making it as easy as possible for our employees and residents to make an energy-saving choice like driving an electric vehicle.”

EVAL certification is designed to help and celebrate employers committed to advancing clean transportation options for employees, including the provision of electric vehicle charging, carpooling, biking, and public transportation initiatives.
