The West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District approved the final mentoring plan for its new teacher mentoring program. Each school district is required to have a plan that complies with the New Jersey Academic Code (NJAC) regulations.

The school district will welcome 32 new educators, each of whom will be assigned a different mentor. The mentors’ duties include assisting mentees in learning their curriculum, the expectations, procedures, and routines of the school and district, and to supervise the novice teacher’s performance.##M:[more]##

Nine of the new teachers have a certificate of eligibility, and 16 have a certificate of eligibility with advanced standing. Seven are novice special education teachers with a standard license.

The program was amended to comply with changing guidelines set forth by the New Jersey Academic Commission, which requires that each school district have a mentoring plan.
