One weekend during May, Mercer County Park transforms into Renaissance-era England. This is the 10th anniversary of the West Windsor Lions Club Renaissance Faire. Professional re-enactors perform the joust and the melee, which involve the use of heavy weapons and armor. In addition, there are more than 50 vendors selling everything from leather products to home made soap and jewelry. Concessions stands in the food service area offer medieval-style food options — or hamburgers for those who are less adventuresome. ##M:more]##

The Renaissance Faire was started by West Windsor Lions Mary Weaver, Edward DiPolvere, and late Norm Goldstein. Weaver and DiPolvere devote countless hours throughout the year in planning the annual event. “We designed the Renaissance Faire to provide quality entertainment for families in the Mercer County area,” says DiPolvere. “The Faire makes an ideal weekend outing for the entire family.”
