Community Middle School’s AMIGOS were presented with the second place youth team award from the March of Dimes for its fundraising efforts. The organization raised $5,870 through “March of Fashion,” a fashion show.

The students, responsible for the entire event, sought donations of clothing for the models from area businesses, gifts for basket giveaways, and food. The group has raised more than $21,000 for MOD during the past five years to promote its mission to give every baby a healthy start through the prevention of birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

Co-advisors Patrick Lepore and Cherine Zaki help the students develop leadership potential through peer-to peer relationships and community service projects.
