Visiting Nurse Association Health Group recently elected Aline M. Holmes, RN, MSN, to the VNA Health Group board of trustees. As a board member, Holmes, a Plainsboro resident, will assist in the oversight and governance of the organization’s role as the largest nonprofit community health provider of home health, hospice, and community-based care for residents throughout New Jersey.

Holmes, currently the senior vice president of clinical affairs at the New Jersey Hospital Association, a position she has held since 2002, is also the director of the NJHA Institute for Quality and Patient Safety. Prior to working with NJHA, Holmes was the senior manager of critical care at Jersey Shore Medical Center. She currently serves as president of the board of trustees for Children Can Shape the Future and is a board member for the New Jersey Collaborating Center for Nursing and the W.C. Edwards School of Nursing Advisory Board at Thomas Edison State College.

#b#Plainsboro’s Kim Named as Director#/b#

Steve Kim of Plainsboro has been appointed director of the Princeton Girlchoir Ensemble. Kim is also the director of worship at Princeton Presbyterian Church, and interim choral director and teacher of music at Stuart Country Day School. Kim is also the music director at Princeton Presbyterian Church, and artistic director of Arts at Meadow Road — an organization launching this year.

A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, he received a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in choral conducting from Westminster Choir College, where he was the co-conductor of the Westminster Mastersingers. He had also served as the graduate assistant in choral conducting for two years. During the past three years his choral compositions have been premiered by organizations including the North Carolina High School Honors Chorus, Westminster Choir, and Chanticleer. Last season he worked with the Princeton Girlchoir as accompanist for Grace Notes.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Steve Kim to the conducting staff,” says Lynnel Joy Jenkins, the artistic director of Princeton Girlchoir. “He is known among the Princeton Girlchoir community because he has served as accompanist in recent years. I am thrilled that his association with the Princeton Girlchoir will continue in his newest roles as associate conductor. He brings extensive experience in choral music and education which will serve our choristers well.”
