As an eight-year survivor of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, Januszewski possesses a personal commitment to help LRF fulfill its mission to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by this disease.

After her diagnosis, she sought information and resources, and, along with her husband John, attended LRF’s Blood Cancer Advocacy Days in 2003.

She has been an active volunteer for the Foundation ever since. In 2003 Januszewski established LRF’s New Jersey Chapter and served as its president through 2007. She also chaired four 5K Lymphomathons that raised more than $410,”000.

A dedicated public speaker, Januszewski has presented her personal advocacy experience before audiences at the community and national levels. As a member of LRF’s Public Policy Committee, she testified before the House of Representatives Appropriations Military Quality of Life and Veterans Affairs Subcommittee in March, 2006. She called on the subcommittee to provide $10 million for a dedicated blood cancer research program at the Department of Defense.

She assumed the chairmanship of LRF’s National Chapter Development Committee in January, 2007, and became a member of national board of directors for a two-year term.

She was honored in 2007 with the LymphomAdvocate Leadership Award for her commitment to advancing LRF’s mission of eradicating lymphoma.
