David Rothermel, 48, of Hunters Glen Drive, was charged April 1 with luring two girls, ages 4 and 6, into his apartment.

According to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, Rothermel approached the two girls, who were playing in a yard in his apartment complex, and invited them back to his home on March 28. The investigation began after the parents of the 6-year-old girl called police. The girls were not physically injured, the press release stated.

The charges followed an investigation by Detective Russell Finkelstein of the Plainsboro Police Department and Su Kowalski of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Rothermel, pictured above in a photo released by the Prosecutor’s Office, is in custody at the Middlesex County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. He must pay the full amount before he can be released.
