Knight of Columbus to host Youth Soccer Challenge

The Knights of Columbus Council #7000 is set to host the Youth Soccer Challenge.

The competition is open to boys and girls age nine to 14 from Lawrence Township. It is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at the National Guard Armory Complex on Eggerts Crossing Road.

The Soccer Challenge is designed for players to demonstrate their penalty kicks. Each player will be allowed 15 shots at the goal from the penalty line. The goal will be divided into a series of five scoring zones.

The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, regional and state competitions. Winners from the local Council competition will advance to the District competition which is scheduled for Oct. 5.

Participants are required to bring proof of age and written parental consent. Age eligibility is determined by age of the contestant as of September 1.
