The 28 members of the High School North Debate Club competed in Princeton University’s Moot Court Competition. The competition simulated a Supreme Court case in which a federal law mandating school uniforms is challenged on the basis of freedom of speech. The “law” was passed by Congress after a student was severely beaten upon wearing a tee-shirt with an inappropriate and offensive saying.##M:[more]##

In the end it was a close debate, and Radhika Gharpure, a senior, and Cong Ding, a sophomore, were the winners. Peter Maa and Priya Marathe, both sophomores, were the second place winners. Top Attorney awards went to Radhika Gharpure, Katherine Fu, and Chris Bergman. Corinne Egner is the faculty advisor.
