Pooja Mehta of Plainsboro and her students from Plainsboro’s Payal Dancing School conducted a workshop in Indian folk dance at Wheaton Arts Museum in Millville on June 28. They presented instruction in Garba and Tipni (from the State of Gujarat), Bhangara and Lodi (from the State of Punjab), Lavani and Fisherman dance (from the State of Maharashtra), and the Tribal dance from the State of Tamil Nadu. The group has been invited to return for Indian Heritage Day on September 12.##M:[more]##

Mehta graduated from High School South, Class of 2007, and is a rising sophomore at Temple University, where she is majoring in psychology and minoring in marketing. She is also a member of Temple’s dance group “Agni.”
