East Carolina University: Shannon Davis of Plainsboro graduated in December with a bachelor of science degree in communication, with a concentration on broadcast journalism. She is also on the dean’s list.##M:[more]##

A graduate of High School South, Class of 2004, she was in the wind symphony orchestra, pit orchestras, and percussion ensemble all four years. She was also in the marching band, and was drum major her junior and senior years. In her senior year, she was also in the jazz band at school and played in Mercer County Community Band concerts.

During college she had 73 articles published in “The East Carolinian,” two articles published in “Friend Orange,” and one in “Breakdowns Breakthroughs.” She visited Ghana, Africa during her junior year.

A young woman of diversified career paths, Davis is a regional manager for Sparkling Pool Services, where she has been a lifeguard since high school; works part-time for the promotions department at NJ101.5 FM, where she interned two years ago; is a substitute teacher for the WW-P school district, teaches swim lessons, and performs in several area bands.

She is the daughter of Michael Davis, who works at ETS and just completed his 14th season with the High School South Marching Band, and Margaret Davis, a nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, and a volunteer with the Plainsboro’s CERT program.

Endicott College :Erin Pettus, a graduate of High School North is spending the spring semester at the Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia. She is a junior majoring in communications.

Lynchburg College: Sarah Ashley Preno of West Windsor is an active member of the Iota Omicron chapter of Alpha Chi Omega, a national women’s fraternal organization that benefits victims of domestic violence. She is a junior majoring in marketing.

Rider University: Farrah Thomson, a graduate of High School North, Class of 2004, is on the dean’s list. During the past semester, Thompson wrote and directed a documentary about sustainability efforts in Lawrence Township. She is majoring in communications and journalism major with a minor in advertising minor. She is a member of Phi Eta Sigma, National Freshman Honor Society, and Lambda Pi Eta, National Communication Honor Society.
