Ride into the summer season with West Windsor’s eighth annual bike festival on Saturday May 28, at West Windsor Community Park on Princeton-Hightstown Road. With five rides to choose from for all levels of bikers, one of them will match your needs. While the 40-mile ride is for experienced adult cyclists only, the 1.5 mile ride within the park is great for children with an adult. A bike safety rodeo will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. All participants must wear a helmet while riding and participants under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Rides include:

40-mile ride for experienced adult cyclists only. Register at 7:30 a.m. and start riding at 8 a.m.

20-mile ride for experienced cyclists only. Register at 8:30 a.m. and start riding at 9 a.m.

11-mile town tour include a ride past many of the town’s historical sites. Register at 9:30 a.m. and start riding at 10 a.m.

7-mile trolley line ride along the PSE&G right of way trail. Register at 10 a.m. and start riding at 10:30 a.m.

1.5 mile ride in the park includes new sections of the park trail. Register at 10:15 a.m. with staggered starts through 10:45 a.m.

Registration includes route markings, cue sheets, maps, food and water stops, in addition to the after ride festivities. Registration fee is $20; $5 for under 13 years-old. Register at www.wwparks-recreation.com. The raindate is Sunday, May 29.

Last year more than 700 riders and their families were in attendance. While children had fun with a bike safety rodeo, moon bounce, and giant slide, families enjoyed food and music at the post-ride gathering.
