Peter Hopper of West Windsor has qualified to represent the state at National History Day’s national competition at the University of Maryland in June. His paper, competing in Junior Historical Paper category, is titled, “No Paper Compromise: the Federal Response to the Pratt Street Riot Escalated What Proved to be a Costly Conflict between Maryland and the Union.”##M:[more]##

Hopper, who is homeschooled, was honored at the NJ History Day awards ceremony with prizes in two of the four special awards categories. He is the first recipient of the newly established John T. Cunningham Lincoln Prize. He will matriculate at Princeton Day School in September.
