The West Windsor Planning Board has approved a proposal by the Twin “W” First Aid Squad to construct a free-standing garage for storage on its 2.5-acre property.

The volunteer squad will be using its own funding to construct the 1,230-square foot structure in the back of the existing facility on Everett Drive. The garage will be used to store equipment.

The Planning Board approved the application for preliminary and final major site plan approval on July 21. The application did not require any variances and fell within the zoning regulations for the property. The 2.5-acre site will provide ample room for the structure, but the squad will lose 13 of its current 52 parking spaces, which should be adequate. The site plan application was required, even though the squad’s proposal meets all requirements.
