Members of Congregation Beth Chaim, Habitat for Humanity, and their friends, sang Christmas carols to the residents of the Gardens at Monroe on December 25. Area singers included Jack Petzko, Emily Schuit, Tammy Shpilberg, Hannah Leventhal, Harriet Greenblatt, Bob Rich, Shep Frankel, Matthew Ferzst, Rene Suslak, Judith Ferszt, Susan Stocker, Gerry Suslak, Ramona Schilling, Nancy Mitrocsak, and Andrea Vadimski. Josh Suslak accompanied on the piano.

Beth El Synagogue members met there to light the Chanukah Menorah built several years ago by the religious school classes. Attendees included West Windsor residents Ken Pepper, and Lauren and Rachel Goldfinger.

Chabad of the Windsors held its Menorah lighting ceremony at McCaffrey’s Supermarket in West Windsor on Sunday, December 21. The program began with a magic show and was followed by a choir presentation. Participants enjoyed arts and crafts, Judaica, latkes, donuts, and dreidels. Max Steinberg of Plainsboro lit the first candle along with Rabbi Sholom Leverton, director of Chabad of the Windsors and a West Windsor resident.

Leverton also supervised the installation of the large Menorah at the corner of Clarksville and Princeton-Hightstown roads near the town’s holiday tree. David Kalmus of West Windsor volunteered to “light” it every night.
