West Windsor Arts Council presents an exhibit featuring teaching artists and their students. The artworks will include painting, pen and ink, print, fiber art, multi-media, poetry, and more, on view from Tuesday, January 5, to Saturday, February 27. The opening reception will be held Sunday, January 10, 4 to 6 p.m.

“For an art student, exhibiting their work may seem like a daunting next step, but we are proud to offer this opportunity to our students with the Faculty/Student Show,” says Aylin Green, the executive director of the arts council. “The exhibition will offer insight into a selection of the classes that are taught at WWAC and provide our students (from both adult and children’s classes) with an education in preparing their work for exhibition.” Faculty members were asked to work with their students to encourage and guide those who had work to share to submit it for the show.

“While each faculty member brings their own artistic vision to this show, the students are encouraged to expand their own horizons and develop their own creative instincts under the guidance of their teachers,” says Green.

Visitors to the exhibition will see what is current in the local art scene, and during the opening reception on January 10, they will get a chance to meet and hear from the artists and students during the talk at 5 p.m.

The participating teachers and students include Katie Truk with students Logan Klein and Monica Bisgaier; Zakia Ahmed with students Evelyne Mirville, Tammy Dawkins, and Barbara Weinfield; Priscilla Algava with students Tara Broderick, Judith Bettina, and Julie Rosenthale; Sandra Davis with students Joan Wheeler, Kathleen Nademus, and Aylin Green; Carol Feinstein with student Katy White; Judy Langille with students Melitta VanderBrooke, Adria Sherman, and Denise Rodgers; Aparajita Sen with students Samantha Burt, Serafina Joseph, and Anaya Patel; Eloise Bruce with students Susan Matson, Shriya Sudhakar, Shruthi Gopinath, Claire Shao, Shriya Sudhakar, and Estella Ruggiero; Sejal Krishnan with students R Sunjith, S Kumar, and R Zaklis; and Jose Anico.
