Marissa Marciano, an eighth grade student at Grover Middle School, is doing a service project for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in conjunction with her upcoming confirmation. She is seeking donations of crayons, colored pencils, markers, stickers, paper, coloring books, and activity books such as word search and crossword puzzles.

“St. Jude is a hospital that specializes in children fighting cancer. The kids going there are facing some really horrible things, and I can’t even imagine what they are going through,” says Marciano. “I’m sure sitting in one of those waiting rooms must be terrifying, so I am going to be making Waiting Room Fun Bags, and I am looking for donations.”

The items should be generic for boys or girls and should fit into a gallon-size zip lock storage bag. Collection takes place through Friday, February 20. E-mail theaterkid01@gmail.com for more information.
