Trenton’s Mill Hill Playhouse is set to present a rare public production of internationally acclaimed poet and playwright and Trenton-resident Yusef Komunyakaa’s dramatic monologue “Autobiography of My Alter Ego” on March 22 at 3 p.m.

The reading will be performed by Alan Benditt and will be followed by a conversation with Komunyakaa and Benditt, book signing and wine reception.

“Autobiography of My Alter Ego,” originally included in Komunyakaa’s 2008 book Warhorses, is a monologue spoken by a white American bartender. It addresses our flawed, often destructive psyche, how we strive for peace and resurrection through music, language, and engagement.

Tickets for the event are extremely limited and cost $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

The Mill Hill Playhouse is located at 205 East Front Street in Trenton.
