The studio, an affiliate of the Princeton Dance and Theater Studio in Plainsboro, is a professional training center for students who are serious about working in theater, film, and television. Jody Wood, a professional actor for more than 25 years, runs the program. His career has taken him from the New York stage, Hollywood screen, and television roles on CSI Miami, ER, The West Wing, NYPD Blue, The Practice, and The King of Queens.

In addition to his film and television work, Wood has appeared in numerous commercials while providing voice over in others. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, and Actor’s Equity Association. Wood met his wife, Sally, at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Their children are Joe and Lucy.

A seven-week program of acting and improv classes for adults begins on Thursday, June 19, at 7 p.m. The workshop will focus on acting and improv exercises, monologue and scene study, skills training for auditions, interviews, and public presenting.

All acting and improv classes are held at the Princeton Dance and Theater Studio, Forrestal Center, 116 Rockingham Row, Plainsboro. Voice Over, narration, and film workshops are held at Burkewood Communications, 5 Mapleton Road, Suite 201, Plainsboro.

“The studio is also for students to learn the skills to enhance their presentations, build confidence, or become better listeners and communicators,” says Wood. “I bring my passion for acting to every workshop and I am working toward building both a professional acting company and comedy improve troupe with the students.”
