American Cancer Society is set to host Bark for Life to honor the furry friends that accompany humans for every birthday, laugh and tear.

Bark for Life of Mercer County, a dog-friendly 5k set for Sept. 27 at Veterans Park, supports the organization’s mission to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

The event is a non-competitive walk on a preplanned route. Registration is set to begin at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

Dogs and their owners can participate in games, demonstrations and contests throughout the event.

Registration is $20 for owners with one dog and $30 for owners with two.
