Dessie Moynihan to talk about her experience in the theater industry

The Lewis Center for the Arts is set to present Is it Better on Broadway? A Conversation about Art and Commerce in American Theatre, a discussion with Dessie Moynihan on April 29 at 4:30 p.m in the Katzenbach Room.

Moynihan is the Vice President for Creative Projects at The Shubert Organization and the talk will discuss her experiences and the insight she has gained from a long career working within top New ork production companies.

She began her theater career in New York in the public relations/marketing department of Circle Repertory Company. She worked at off-off-Broadway’s Ensemble Studio Theatre for six years.

In 1988 she joined The Shubert Foundation and in 1996 she moved over the the Shubert Organization.

Moynihan has an M.A. in drama and dance and a Ph.D. in performance studies from New York University and she taught theatre at Sarah Lawrence for five years.

The discussion will be moderated by Professor Jill Dolan.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Katzenbach Room is room 207 of 185 Nassau Street, Princeton.
