Catherine A. Brauer, 70, of Surf City, formerly of West Windsor, died on Sept. 13.

Born in Manhattan, Brauer graduated from Fordham University. Her 45-year working career began when she was recruited out of college by the National Security Agency (NSA). She retired in 2012 as the chief information officer of Prudential Financial in Newark.

Brauer was buried in Princeton Cemetery in Princeton, with her beloved husband of 40 years, Lawrence H. Brauer, who died in 2011. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Lisa Brauer, with whom she lived.

Memorial contributions may be made to Fordham University Gridiron Club, Office of Athletic Development, 888 Seventh Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY, in memory of Larry and Catherine (Kay) Brauer.

Steven Stewart, 89, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., formerly of West Windsor, died on Sept. 16. Born in Bronx, New York, he earned a bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. He was CEO of Baker Adhesives, Inc.

Stewart was a member of the Citizens Rifle and Revolver Club in West Windsor for many years, the West Windsor Lions Club and the West Windsor Volunteer Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; and his son, Douglas Stewart and daughter-in-law, Deborah Stewart of Robbinsville.

Beulah Baker, 82, of Hamilton Township, formerly of West Windsor, died on Sept. 22. Born in Newark she moved to Princeton Junction with her family in 1940 and attended Dutch Neck school. She earned a degree in elementary education from James Madison College and then worked as a first-grade teacher at Dutch Neck.

She went on to earn a masters at Rutgers University, an administrative certificate at Rider College (now University), and many additional advanced credits. Her teaching spanned all grade levels including college. She moved into various managerial positions including principalships.

She was the recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the I/D/E/A Academy of Fellows, Kettering Foundation, Outstanding Educators of America and Who’s Who in American Education. After retiring in 1997, Baker volunteered as a tutor at the Trenton Soup Kitchen.

Baker is survived by her partner, Marion R. Fugill; her sister, Lois Jakubowski; and her brother, Hoyt E. Ellis.

Delores R. Whaley of Rockaway Township, died on Sept. 16. Survivors include her son, Jason, of Plainsboro.

Patrick Joseph Galvin, 75, of Raleigh, NC, died on Sept. 19. Survivors include his brother, Richard, and wife, Eileen, of West Windsor.

Jane Allison Hamlett, 58, of Roanoke, Va., died on Sept. 15. Survivors include her son, Tom Parker, and his wife, Katie, of West Windsor.
