Darts tournament to benefit Make a Wish

Greater Trenton Darts League is set to sponsor a dart-a-thon to benefit Make A Wish New Jersey.

The ninth annual Darts for Dreams is scheduled for May 3 at Cook Athletic Association, 411 Hobart Ave., Hamilton. Doors are set to open 12 p.m., shooting darts is scheduled to run 1 to 6 p.m.

Unlike a traditional tournament, Darts for Dreams participants pay $5 to shoot 51 darts for a high score. Shooters can enter more than once. The league is set to award a high score winner every hour with a cash prize.

At the end of the event, the league will award an overall male and female winner.

The tournament also includes team and youth categories.

There will also be door prizes, raffles and a silent auction.

The entrance fee is $10.

Since 2006, the league has raised about $135,000 and sponsored 21 wishes for Make a Wish NJ. This year’s goal is $25,000.
