Cultural Diversity on Display at County Festival

The fifth annual Mercer County Cultural Festival and Food Truck Rally will celebrate the numerous ethnicities and countries of origin of the people of the area. The event will be on Saturday, June 20, at the Mercer County Park Festival Grounds in West Windsor from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The diverse culture features music and traditional dance performances, food trucks, beer garden, art demonstrations, heritage crafters, activities for children, and Native American Indians with handmade teepees.

Heritage artisans and craft vendors present blacksmithing, Japanese origami, West African sculpture, Amazonian rain forest crafts, baskets, jewelry and other crafts from Africa, Guatemalan woven goods, old English wood post making, and more.

The Central Jersey Antique Car Club will show off some of the finest vintage cars.

The lineup of performers is as follows:

11 a.m. Eletfa, a Hungarian folk band 11:30 a.m. Csurdongolo, a Hungarian folk dance ensemble 11:45 a.m. Fiesta Flamenca, a Spanish dance group.

12:15 p.m. The Shantys, an Irish folk band 1 p.m. Shen Yun Productions present Chinese Lion dancers 1:30 p.m. Mariachi Nuevo Mexico, a mariachi band 2:30 p.m. Egun Omode, African dance and drums.

3 p.m. Across the Street, a bluegrass folk band 3:45 p.m. Shishya School of Performing Arts present Bharathanatyam dance 4:15 p.m. Janosik Polish dancers 4:30 p.m. Caribbean Extravaganza Steel Drum Band 5:15 p.m. Ballet Folklorico Peru, a Peruvian dance troupe 6 p.m. Swing Sabroso, a salsa band

Food trucks feature Brazilian barbecue, Asian fusion dumplings, Greek food, hot dogs, American barbecue, and desserts. There will also be Mexican, Italian, French, Spanish, Greek, and Belgian foods.
