The WW-P cross country runners closed out great seasons with even more impressive post-season results. The North boys’ team became the first Mercer County team to win the state Meet of Champions on November 22, behind great runs by twins Joe and Jim Rosa — who placed second and sixth, respectively — as well as seniors Ryan Sleeper, Tyler Corkedale, Anthony Lee, Stephen Ellwood, and junior Jon Squeri. The team has since jumped in national rankings from 19 to 4.##M:[more]##

Then Joe Rosa, along with Corkedale, had an even better performance on November 29 at the Nike Northeast Regional Championships at Bowdoin Park in New York. Corkedale placed 15th with a time of 16:36.3, while Rosa took the individual championship, with a time of 15:56.6 earning North a qualifying spot in the Nike National Championship race at Portland Meadows in Oregon on Saturday, December 6. Jim Rosa placed 11th with a time of 16:29.7.

From South, Katie Kellner placed third at the Meet of Champions for the girls, and her sister, Caroline, placed 24th. Katie followed up with a sixth place overall finish at the Footlocker Regionals on November 29 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. The senior was third among New Jersey runners, with a time of 18:09.7. She will compete in the Foot Locker National Championship on Saturday, December 13, in San Diego.
