At the October 26 meeting Council approved an ordinance for shared emergency police services. West Windsor will participate in a mutual aid agreement so that, in the event the number of police officers in a participating municipality is “insufficient to meet the public need,” assistance can be requested from other police departments.

Council also approved state grants for pedestrian and bikeway improvements. The projects include bike lanes for South Mill Road between New Edinburg and Village roads, and the installation of four crosswalks and pedestrian activated beacons: one at the Courtney Drive and North Post Road intersection by the library, and also Alexander Road crossings on Berrien Avenue, Scott Avenue, and Harris Road.

Council also approved a $101,889 reimbursement of refuse, recycling, and snow removal costs for Canal Pointe Condominium Homeowners Association for 2014, and a road improvement contract with Earle Asphalt Company for New Village Road between Marian Drive and Stockton Lane for $584,013.
