Construction Continues at South in February

High School South’s major construction project will begin on Monday, February 5, and is scheduled to last until July. The addition of a new gym and performing arts facility was funded by a $27 million referendum passed by district voters last year.##M:[more]##

The removal of the current track and football field, and the replacement with synthetic field turf and an upgraded track, will begin on March 1, and is expected to last throughout the summer, and be completed in time for the 2007 football season. High School North will also have a synthetic turf field installed this summer.

The renovation of the boys locker room and the conversion of the old auxiliary gym to classrooms will begin after the end of the current school year on June 22. The renovation of the locker room is expected

to be completed by the start of the 2007-’08 school year. The conversion of the gym will not be finished until next December.
