Princeton Symphony Orchestra Soundtracks is set to present violist, composer and teacher artist Jessica Meyer on Wednesday, March 4 at 7 p.m.

Meyer will talk about “Carving Out Time for Creativity,” telling the story of her own journey from performing to rediscovering a talent for composing she had as a child. She creates new music with the use of a loop pedal which she’ll introduce and demonstrate during a live performance of music from her latest CD, Sounds of Being.

Sounds of Being is inspired by everything from Bach, Brahms and Blues to Flamenco, Indian Raga and Appalachian fiddling.

Meyer has led over a thousand experiential workshops and regularly trains teachers and conservatory musicians from The Juilliard School and the Curtis Institute of Music on getting audiences to connect to music.

The presentation is a prelude to the March 15 PSO Classical Series Concert “Soulful Reflections” which will feature cellist Zuill Bailey performing Schumann’s Cello Concerto in A Minor and Massenet’s “Meditation” from Thais.

The event is free and will take place at Princeton Public Library’s community room. Princeton Public Library is located at 65 Witherspoon Street.
