Robert R. Cushman of West Windsor has led members of Journey 2L2, his South Brunswick Church, to a milestone of 1,”000 hours of service to communities throughout Mercer and Middlesex counties. Their quest began when members were inspired by the television show, “Extreme Home Makeover,” and decided to find a family transitioning from homelessness into a home of their own.##M:[more]##

They have since helped two families with donations of appliances, furniture, linens, kitchen necessities, curtains, and paint. Members have spent countless hours planning, moving, repairing, assembling furniture, setting up, painting, cleaning, and decorating.

Members also have a team working with Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen. Cushman’s wife, Linda, often helps prepare meals for the clients. Donations may be made to www.journey2L2.org.
