City of Angels to host Rockfest June 23

City of Angels NJ, Inc., is set to host its fifth annual Rockfest at Mercer County Park’s East Picnic Grove on June 22.

Live performances include License to Chill, A Clever Con, Soul Fire, Motherload, Luna Laval, Under Fire, Jeff Palmer Band, Kevin Toft, Zara Phillips, Dusty Rivers Band, Radio Fiction, Mike Matisa, KCM Band and Dana Isles & Facedown.

Rockfest will also feature a car/truck/motorcycle show, an amateur Barbecue Grill-Off with Wounded Warrior judges, Rhythmania drum circles, strolling entertainers, children’s games and amusements, face painting and prize drawings.

City of Angels Recovery Radio (COARR), a radio station providing round the clock music and recovery programming, is set to broadcast live from Rockfest all day.

Gates are scheduled to open at 11 a.m. and the bands will play until 7:30 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., addiction sufferers in recovery will take the stage to tell their stories.

Admission is free.

Proceeds are set to benefit COA, a non-profit organization based in Hamilton that helps families and young people recover from substance addiction. In 2012, COA performed more than 400 interventions and helped more than 600 families, with all services provided completely free of charge.
