West Windsor residents Peter and Trish Fenton and their adopted daughter, Lily Zhong Wei, 3, were featured in “Raising a Child with Roots in China,” in the New York Times on February 25. They were at an event on February 24 with Families With Children From China held at Super Star East Buffet to celebrate Chinese New Year with food, songs, dance, and dress.##M:[more]##

According to the article, Peter Fenton, 43, is of English and Dutch heritage and grew up in South Africa. An accountant, he came to the United States in 1995. His wife is a former telecommunications executive.

Most of the 50 families at the event chose the difficult path of adopting children from China because adoptions in the United States often do not work out. China will be limiting foreign adoption in the near future.
