The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey’s South Ward Family Success Center (SWFSC) recognized sixteen Teen Leaders of Tomorrow (TLT) in an achievement ceremony on July 23, 2015.

Facilitated by Zachyra Rodriguez, Socorro Garcia and Brenmarie Nazario of the SWFSC, the TLT program teaches important life-skills and healthy social connections while encouraging teens to become strong, positive leaders within their community. During the course of the eight-week program, participants complete group assignments, satisfy a two-week community service requirement, and listen to the powerful messages and advice of guest speakers on key issues affecting teenagers today.

Families of the participants were invited to attend the achievement ceremony, where thirteen year old Christopher Robles addressed his fellow TLT graduates and their families. Robles stressed the importance of active, involved parents in a teen’s life and explained how meaningful his TLT experience and the friendships he has made through it have been for him. Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a potluck dinner celebration courtesy of the proud parents and families of our graduates.
