The Children’s Home Society of NJ offers free lunches to children ages 2 to 18 from low-income families. The program runs through August 29, 2015.

The Children’s Home Society of New Jersey’s Mercer Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program has partnered with the City of Trenton’s Summer Food Service Program to provide age-appropriate nutritious lunches for Mercer WIC participants and the greater community from June 29 through August 29, 2015. Children age 2 through age 18 from low-income families are eligible for free lunches Monday through Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 416 Bellevue Avenue, Trenton.

For many low-income families, school lunches are the only nutritious meals available to their children. The United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service Summer Food Service Program ensures healthy lunches for those children when school is not in session. During the 2015 summer, the USDA plans to serve over 200 million free, nutritious meals to children at approved Summer Food Service Program sites, such as the Mercer County WIC program.
