Eight students from Town Center Elementary School were awarded third place in the K-3 group for the New Jersey State Elementary Chess Championship. In addition, Derek Clasby, a second grade student, was awarded an individual trophy for fifth place.
Students also include first grade student Sarthak Chauhansecond; second grade students Sahas Chodhari, Vidith Iyer, Derek Clasby, Pravav Tholeti, Ved Phirke, and Srisainandan Indla; and third grade student Garv Chauhan. The school’s assistant principal is Jeanine Bryde and the principal is Brian Stevens.
