For the sixth time this school year, a WW-P school has been threatened. On Tuesday, March 27, HS South Principal Charles Rudnick sent a letter to parents describing the threat and measures the school would take to ensure the safety of its students.##M:[more]##

“We have found a disturbing message written on the wall in a boy’s bathroom. This message referenced a possible bomb threat,” wrote Rudnick. “We immediately notified the police and have been working collaboratively with them to investigate.”

Rudnick and other school officials were not available for further comment. As of press time, the persons responsible for the incident had not been identified.

According to Police Chief Joseph Pica, the threat was discovered on Tuesday afternoon, and referenced a specific time on Wednesday, March 28, that a bomb would detonate. Bomb-sniffing dogs, including one from West Windsor and 10 from other area police departments, swept the school before staff or students were let in. Entrance was allowed through one front set of doors only and students were not allowed to bring backpacks to school.

“We are taking additional security measures,” wrote Rudnick. “These measures, while not disruptive to the school day, are designed to pay due diligence to a situation that is most likely nothing more than the misguided act of an adolescent.”
