More than 35 area artists will gather Saturday, November 4, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Nassau Park to present six different art activities for community members of all ages. The event, Autumn Arts Afternoon, organized by the West Windsor Arts Council, will take place under a heated tent at Nassau Park near Panera’s.

Ina and Allen Marx, WWAC board members and experts on restoration, will supervise “Assemblages” — the making of three-dimensional framed collages from natural materials.

Carol Schepps, fiber artist, will offer the “Giant Loom” for a communal weaving project.

Heidi Kleinman, architect, WWAC board member, and West Windsor councilwoman, will host still life drawing with pencils, oil pastels, and markers.

Dick Snedeker, WWAC board member, and Renee Kumar, watercolor and collage artist, will chair “Fabulous Forms,” featuring large wooden sculptures that the public can paint on.

Barbara DeBaylo, art teacher, and Jodi Kendall, artist, offer “Aboriginal Dot Art” where participants can print or paint pictures, using dowels, corks, and various other tools.

Gail Mitchell, WW-P teacher, poet, and quilt artist, will chair the “Origami” event, introducing the Japanese art of paper folding. Wakae Kobayashi, a West Windsor resident from Japan, will demonstrate the techniques.

A percentage of sales at Blue Tulip between noon and 4 p.m. will benefit the arts council.
