Veteran athletic director Marty Flynn will leave the district after 15 years to become Hamilton Township’s recreation director. His last day in the WW-P district will be June 30.

Flynn, who holds a master’s degree in health education, will be responsible for health, recreation, seniors, and veterans services.

“We have lifelong recreational skills — playing tennis, jogging in the park — that are important health issues. They all blend in,” Flynn said.

Flynn will earn $114,000. The department, with its $6.2 million budget, has not had a permanent director since November, 2012.

“I really like the work and I’m a Hamiltonian,” Flynn explained. “I worked out of West Windsor, and we did some great things out there, but my roots have always been in Hamilton.”
