The Arts Council of Princeton is set to present a preview of a film by a Princeton resident Jan 8 at 7:00 p.m.

Princeton resident Charles Evered co-wrote and directed A Thousand Cuts. ACP said the film is a psychological thriller about a man with a haunted past who shows up unannounced at the house of a horror movie director determined to teach him what real horror is all about.

ACP said the film contains images of violence and strong language. They suggest no one under 18-years-old attend the screening.

A Thousand Cuts premiered at the Palm Springs International Film Festival. It features Michael A. Newcomer and Academy Award nominee Michael O’Keefe.

ACP said after the screening Evered and cast members will take part in a question and answer session.

Evered studied at Yale University under director George Roy Hill. He made his directorial debut in 2008 with a film adaptation of his play Adopt a Sailor.

The screening is set for Jan.8 at the Arts Council of Princeton’s Paul Robeson Center for the Arts, 102 Witherspoon Street, Princeton.
