Allison Kwok has been honored as the community artist of the year at the opening reception of Youth Art Month featuring artwork by students in grades one through twelve in the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District. The first festival was hosted by Plainsboro Library, and director Jinny Baeckler created the tradition of the annual award.

Sharing her artistic talents with the community for more than 12 years, Kwok teaches both children and adults in Chinese knot making, Origami, and Chinese paper cutting in the annual Plainsboro Festival of Art, Plainsboro Library Summer Programs, the annual Chinese New Year celebration, and after-school programs in the district.

“Contribute whatever and whenever you can to the community, because it is our own community after all,” says Kwok.
