West Windsor Arts Council recognized three winners in the 35th Annual Mercer County Artist Exhibition at the Gallery at Mercer County Community College. Michalyn S. Tarantino received Best in Show for “Wabi-Sabi,” her photorealistic watercolor painting of a vine over a rusting compressor. Honorable mention awards were given to Louis Cicchini for “Ecce Homo” and Andrew Werth for “In Light of Our Knowledge.” (The News, February 2).##M:[more]##

Other West Windsor artists selected to be in the show were Henry Chao for “Raging Granny (For the Peace),” Al Chasan for “Fulton Fish Market,” Ilene Dube for “The Wisdom to Know the Difference,” Kuen Liao for “Natural Rock Bridge,” Stefanie Mandelbaum for “Raven’s Claw,” Amber Palecek for “Dylan,” and Sydell Schunkewitz for “The Beginning.” The judging was based on competency in the medium, design, use of color, and artist creative vision. Burt Wasserman, professor emeritus of art from Rowan University in Glassboro, served as juror for the exhibition.

The show, which opened on January 22, was at the Gallery at Mercer County Community College through Friday, February 16.
