Angelina Sculerati Diaforli of West Windsor is celebrating her 100th birthday on Friday, February 22. Her family, extended family, and close friends will honor her on her birthday.##M:[more]##

She worked in the cafeteria for the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District for 20 years and was a member and office of the West Windsor KeenAgers.

Born in Princeton, she had 10 siblings. “She met her husband through her father as they both worked together at Princeton University and he brought him home one day for lunch,” says her granddaughter, Cathy Tantum, a cheerleading coach and secretary in the nurse’s office at High School South. She was married to Antonio Diaforli Sr. of Isernia, Italy, on June 3, 1922, at St. Paul’s Church in Princeton. Married for 43 years, he died in 1964.

They had nine children including Carrie Moore, Robert Diaforli, Nancy Lee Rhodes, and Judith Anne Davison. Nicholas, Libert, Antonio Jr., Catherine Tylus, MaryAnne Princiotta have died.

Her 20 grandchildren include Thomas Diaforli, Gloria Adkins, Donna Gibbs-Nini, Diane Harlow, James Diaforli, Kevin Tylus, Karen Graff, Catherine Tantum, Christopher Princiotta, Jennifer Metzger, Lisa Recchia, Anthony Diaforli, Robert Diaforli, Jr., Dina Petrillo, Russell Davison, Robert Davison, Fred Rhodes, Jr. and Ryan Davison. CaroleAnne Maggard and Richard Diaforli have died.

She additionally has 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.

Diaforli was very involved in the community for many years and held officer and member positions in the Ladies Auxiliary of the Princeton Elks, the American Legion, the Catholic Daughters, the Columbiettes, the Golden Agers, and the Alter and Rosary Society of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. She also worked at the voting polls up until several years ago.
