“A unique thing about our wedding was that we had eight of Dirk’s relatives come from Holland, so our officiant, Paul Strikwerda, conducted the ceremony in both English and Dutch,” says the bride. “We also broke some gender rules with our wedding party.”

The bride is the daughter of Joel Marmorstein and Sherry Marmorstein, both of West Windsor. A graduate of SUNY New Paltz, she received a master’s degree in professional writing from University of Southern California, and is a librarian at the West Windsor Library.

The groom is the son of Albertje Sijtsma and Abe and Marry Hiemstra, all of Holland. A Lawrenceville resident, he graduated from Hogeschool Alkmaar, and is a field engineer for Spark Holland in Plainsboro.

Bridal attendants included Lihua Marmorstein, matron of honor; Ani Go and Andrea Lopera, bridesmaids; Jade Marmorstein, junior bridesmaid; and Jessica Marmorstein, flower girl.

The groom’s attendants included Bea Hiemstra, best woman; Groomsmen: Ron Brouwer, Jochem De Vries, and Alan Marmorstein, groomsmen; and Vanessa Solomon, ring girl.

While the couple was dating, they saw the Broadway show “Spamalot,” and the cast album became their favorite music. The bride wrote her own lyrics to “The Song That Goes Like This” and surprised the groom and guests by singing a toast “The Toast That Goes Like This,” at the wedding.

After a honeymoon in Los Cabos, Mexico, the couple lives in Lawrenceville.
