High School South students include violinists Jun Sung Ahn, Sarah Yu, and Daniel Ng; violists Rebecca Shi (assistant section leader), and Julia Yan; cellists Jennifer Kao; and bassists Lekha Kanchinadam (assistant section leader) and Benjamin Hong.

Students audition in early December for the three regions of New Jersey, and those accepted perform with their regional orchestra. Those students then audition for the All-State group. After meeting for several rehearsals, they then perform at the New Jersey Teacher’s Convention in November of the following school year.
