Affordable Housing Agency Dissolved

Citing a lack of need for the entity, the Township Committee has initiated the process of dissolving its Affordable Housing Agency.

The Township Committee will introduce an ordinance at its meeting on Wednesday, November 10, that will dissolve the agency. According to Township Administrator Robert Sheehan, state affordable housing laws required towns to establish affordable housing agencies.

However, in the years since, the laws have changed, and Plainsboro has been contracting out affordable housing services with Frank Piazza, of Piazza & Associates.

And because the township’s Affordable Housing Agency has not been meeting, it is time to dissolve the agency, said Sheehan.

Animal Control Services. In other business, township officials will be looking into ways to save money in the area of its animal control services. According to Sheehan, officials will be evaluating ways to save, including possible shared services agreements.
