Michelle Xu, a fifth grade student at Village School, was named the second place winner of the 2008 Arbor Day National Poster Contest. She took the first place award in New Jersey. This year’s competition was based on the theme, “Trees are Terrific: Inside and Out.” Xu received a $500 savings bond and a tree will be planted in her honor at the school. Lesley Bladel, a teacher at Village, received $100 for classrooms supplies.##M:[more]##

David Foppes, a senior at High School North, will be attending Florida Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in aeronautical science, flight option.

Abisha Pandita, a sophomore at High School North, was recognized for academic achievement by the National Society of High School Scholars.
