2015 Kelsey Theare Awards set for July 25

It’s awards season once again at Mercer County Community College’s (MCCC’s) Kelsey Theatre. The 2015 Kelsey Theatre Awards, a Tony Awards-inspired evening that celebrates the past year’s theatrical successes, is set to take place Saturday, July 25 at 8 p.m. Kelsey Theatre is located at 1200 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor.

Winners in 26 categories will be announced during the ceremony. Among the categories are best performances, best technical achievements, best direction and best choreography. The ceremony will also honor Kate Pinner, Kelsey Theatre’s technical coordinator and an MCCC adjunct instructor, who will earn a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The event will include performances from the past season, featuring the casts of CATS, Jesus Christ Superstar, Meet Me in St. Louis, Into the Woods, and The Secret Garden, along with The Producers (2009) and Pippin (2012). Returning for a fifth year of entertainment will be the Kelsey Theatre Dance Squad, choreographed by Rachel Tovar. The show will also feature well-known performers in comedy sketches and presentations.
