The coffee shop opened its doors in Princeton on Dec. 22, 1993, when coffee houses were just beginning to pop up on the East Coast.

After a year-long search of college towns throughout the United States, founders and co-owners, Jessica Durrie and Brant Cosaboom, honed in on Princeton.

In 2010, Small World Coffee on Witherspoon underwent a major renovation, which allowed the café to continue to refine its service.
