Hopewell Township has entered into a new shared-services agreement with East Windsor Township.

Under the agreement, Hopewell Township Health Officer Gary Dorsi will serve as East Windsor’s Health Officer for a one-year term.

Dorsi previously served as health officer for Ewing Township under a similar shared services arrangement that recently concluded, as Ewing Township appointed a full-time health officer.

“This new agreement brings additional revenue to Hopewell Township without impacting our residents,” said Mayor Courtney Peters-Manning. “It’s a smart way to share expertise and strengthen public health services within Mercer County.”

Under New Jersey law, municipalities are required to ensure the protection of public health within their borders. East Windsor Township maintains its own health department, and Dorsi’s appointment fulfills the statutory requirement for a licensed health officer to oversee public health operations.
