The City of Trenton celebrates its winning of the national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Culture of Health Prize, on Wednesday, June 18, at Trenton City Hall.

Culture of Health Prize: A Trenton Celebration, will be held in the City Hall’s Atrium from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes comments from local leaders and elected officials.

The $250,000 RWJF Culture of Health Prize is awarded annually to a select number of communities across the country, recognizing collaborative efforts that are inspiring real, systemic change in health outcomes and social well-being. Trenton is the first New Jersey community to ever win the award in the 10 years since it was launched.

The application process was led by Trenton Health Team (THT), and Capital Health, in collaboration with many longstanding community partners. Kimberly Mitchell, senior program manager of family health at THT, says, “The partnerships that exist in Trenton are part of what fuels the revitalization and strength of the city. Every one of us can be part of fortifying this to be sure that all children, neighbors and people in the city are taken care of. This prize is a celebration of all the amazing work that has been done and the path being forged, but also an acknowledgement that we are not done yet.”
